Shreveport, Louisiana
“National Register of Historic Places built 1865 as Tally and Co., bankers for Martin Tally, Mayor 1867-1868, and Brother Dew Lafayette Tally. Pike’s Bank 1867-1876, (George Pike), Asher’s Bank 1876. E&B Jacobs Bank 1877-1883, that became Shreveport’s first national bank in 1886. Restored 1975. One of the oldest remaining downtown buildings with the original bank vault and door.”

“Harrison Building:
Built by Mayor Martin Tally about 1865. Known as the Smith Building from 1870. Extensively remodeled 1897. Served as first federal courthouse of Shreveport 1880-1887. Later home to Elliott Electric company and Harrison Tobacco Company. ” ~ (monument marker outside of bank)
